About Joan Jones
My passion for painting began at age 10 when my grandfather gave me an easel to help pass the time while I recuperated from infantile paralysis. Joan, I just revisited your site to enjoy once again your wonderful pastels; To answer your question about my being a 'tyke' during my stay in Norway, no I was a young mother with two girls and a husband in the oil industry.....many, many years ago :) Once again, I have to tell you how much I love your work! Good wishes!

thanks so much, Dianne! Your comment about living in Stavanger from '77 - 86 got me to wondering whether you were still a little tyke then.

Joan, I love your pastels of Norway; they're so fresh! My family and I lived in Stavanger for nine years, from 1977-1986 and have many fond memories. You have captured the charm of this wonderful country!
